Practice

I'm having trouble getting back Back into the swing of things Should I start with the same set of sounds Sounding out syllables Maybe my sultry symbols Will soon cease to sting like symbols Or Maybe I Should Write As Little As Possible To Make My Words Appear More... Than Just Words What if it doesn't need to mean anything? And all that matters is how the words sound? Like Likelier than Sailing south Banana Brainstorm Bar stool Mouth Monolithic Monotony The Paragon of Chivalry Dial up the cavalry Regardless, I like the practice To be honest I missed this.

Just five minuets Give me just five minuets To breathe Come up for air Inhale Exhale That stale taste On your tongue A reminder of being young Young enough at least Place mats and play dates and Playmate Behind the gate And swinging higher than anyone Wishing you weren't young Girls you knew you loved A thought so lovely; high above Pushed against the wall of see-through plastic Blowing bubbles Scream for daddy Crab-walk along the poolside lined White tiled SlippingSpillingTilting Trial Water gurgle Swallowed up Blackened bruises Smooth Jazz Music Musing away the blind and unforgettable Blue Bird Burbling Stomach Churning Eyes glaze over and over and over and over and before long it's over.

The Fall in Effect

White walls line the candy-stripe isles Several uniforms rush to clean blood from the tiles Another of mother earth's baby girls and twisted smiles Growing tumors; unhealthy addictions to Harry Stiles Adolescence Untouched lips and Malleable Minds racing for miles Broken upon impact An attempt to connect While tears flood from the face - body falls into a spiral Pages ripped from a diary Bruises and broken bones Pouring from the insides of classroom halls A Nightmare; harassment in bathroom stalls Stitch the mouths shut of Pretty boys purring cat-calls Drowning in makeovers bought at the mall Purchasing the products to fix it all Spending time with a "man" painted handsome and tall Fell in love with an idea That led to the fall

Jumping Hurdles

School is the only thing I can talk about anymore This thing's swallowed up my whole life And I'm not studious I am only a student Assigned to climb Mt. Vesuvius And it's tedious And it's ludicrous And I don't plan to climb mountains later But should I be listening to myself? Or this thing the teacher's telling me? That I should " try out for the school play Because it's the only place where you can be yourself " And Iv'e been getting so afraid lately To do all of these things I thought I had gotten comfortable doing And Iv'e been finding it a lot harder to talk to people And it makes no sense I thought I had beaten it. But I don't know anymore. School is the only thing I can talk about anymore
