Practice

I'm having trouble getting back
Back into the swing of things
Should I start with the same set of sounds
Sounding out syllables
Maybe my sultry symbols
Will soon cease to sting like symbols

Or Maybe
I Should Write
As
Little
As
Possible
To Make My Words Appear More...
Than Just Words

What if it doesn't need to mean anything?
And all that matters is how the words sound?
Like
Likelier than
Sailing south
Banana Brainstorm
Bar stool Mouth
Monolithic Monotony
The Paragon of Chivalry
Dial up the cavalry

Regardless, I like the practice
To be honest I missed this.

Growing Pains

When my cousin had his birthday He wore his age like a badge of honor Perhaps he was telling the truth Perhaps he was afraid And by overcompensating felt that he was saved Caved in cake Craved intake Take out the take out late Later At The Movies showing Roeper like a reaper eating Rodger Ebert's face Paused in place Cards are maxed out Outsourced and passed out Placed last but passed late The little pitter patter of the onomonopea Rain still pouring Like a teacher tries to preach just like a Preacher Peeling plastic off the sidewalk Empty rhymes talk Empty minds mock Brakes are shot I grip the steering 2 and 10 it in a Walmart's empty parking lot

The Fall in Effect

White walls line the candy-stripe isles Several uniforms rush to clean blood from the tiles Another of mother earth's baby girls and twisted smiles Growing tumors; unhealthy addictions to Harry Stiles Adolescence Untouched lips and Malleable Minds racing for miles Broken upon impact An attempt to connect While tears flood from the face - body falls into a spiral Pages ripped from a diary Bruises and broken bones Pouring from the insides of classroom halls A Nightmare; harassment in bathroom stalls Stitch the mouths shut of Pretty boys purring cat-calls Drowning in makeovers bought at the mall Purchasing the products to fix it all Spending time with a "man" painted handsome and tall Fell in love with an idea That led to the fall

Death: A poem

Blackened streets of which were callused marks upon the earth unbalanced  plant life withered and creatures fled they knew that Death had reared its head The trees that burned and the buildings crushed could not quench our old friends lust but Mother Nature looked around and took into account the ground of which was dead and black as night And She Showed death his Weakness: LIGHT  So, the dark had subsided and as did our creature to Return once again when things seemed much bleaker
